Bridge StreetThen & Now

Bridge Street was an active and visually interesting component of Winnemucca’s vibrant social life during much of the last two centuries.

However, during the 1960s many of the town’s architectural landmarks were replaced with parking lots and vacant spaces that remain empty.

Other key landmarks, such as the Nixon Opera house, suffered fire damage or were destroyed completely and never rebuilt.

Take a digital tour of Winnemucca’s historic buildings.

The 108-year-old Hubbard House is located on Winnemucca’s historic Bridge Street corridor. It is in danger of being torn down.

WMCA Mainstreet and other local organizations would like to preserve this architectural landmark and repurpose for public service work space.

Federal and state grant programs are available for WMCA Mainstreet to use towards rebuilding and repurposing historically important buildings.
